Being fairly new to the whole blogging world, I'm always looking for ways to expand my readership (not that I don't love you guys). The other day, one of my fellow Sweat Pink Ambassadors asked if anyone wanted to be involved in the whole Liebster Award thing that's going on right now. Have you heard of this?
I'm up for anything, so I said "Oooh, me, me! Pick me!" So Jennifer (The Runner's Feet) did - me and 9 others. After reading her post about the "award," I realized that it's essentially a chain letter. You "tag" 10 bloggers, then they tag 10 bloggers, then they tag 10 bloggers.... etc, etc, etc. Sure, it may be a way to meet new bloggers, but it's not exactly my cup of tea.
So I will not be answering the questions Jennifer gave me (sorry, hon!), nor will I be asking questions of others. But in the spirit of the award (why is this thing an "award," exactly?), I do suggest that you go check out Jennifer's blog (she seems like a nice enough girl).
Also, just a friendly reminder that when you read someone's blog, if you've got some extra time, check out any blogs that they have on their sidebars. Chances are, if a blogger you like likes something, you'll like it, too!
I am totally LOLing at this post, because I have never really understood those Liebster award things and while I enjoy reading the answers and getting to know people through them, it's not really the type of blog post I prefer to read on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteGood reminder about the linked blogs. That is how I find a lot of the blogs I read! :)
.... and I just realized that I deleted my list of favorite blogs the other day (I was going to update it) and never put it back on my blog. Duh. ROFL
DeleteThe Liebster Award is a great way to "get to know you" and to get to know others. Put up your favorite blogs so we can see!
ReplyDeleteI had them listed and then was messing around with things and they poofed. Getting them back up today. =)
DeleteI think a lot of us all read many of the same blogs so what you sometimes end up with is multiple Liebster Award winners out there which somehow does diminish the whole thing a little. It IS kind of cool to think that a blogger out there was trying to think of ten blogs they liked and one of them was YOURS, though! Having said all that, responding to those awards is a heck of a lot of WORK, (for ME, anyway...lol)! I think in the future what I might do when I run across a blog I enjoy that I think others might enjoy as well I'll simply attach it to the end of one of my regular posts and maybe give it a little blurby or something---something a little more personal, maybe.
ReplyDeleteI think that's a great idea! Also, you're right that it would be cool if someone read my blog and thought that others should read it... but the girl who "nominated" me for the Leibster had never read my blog. So...... Yeah. LOL
Deletei love learning about new blogs, so thanks for the link :). and you are so right, its just like a chain letter :)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! =)
DeleteI think most of the blogs I read read each others' blogs too for the very reason you said! I've found most of my favorite blogs by clicking the comments on blogs I like.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on these awards! I think it's nice but I can't pick 10 people - I want to nominate all of my friends so I never participate the correct way!!!
ReplyDeleteExactly! =)
